Eight Texas A&M responders are supporting flood search operations in Kerr County, providing vital care to K-9 units working to locate missing residents.

KERR COUNTY, Texas — Six members of the Texas A&M Veterinary Emergency Team and two Texas A&M AgriLife Disaster Assessment & Recovery agents deployed from Bryan‑College Station last night to bolster search‑and‑rescue operations after catastrophic flooding, the university said.

Team members will focus on keeping the K‑9 search dogs healthy and mission‑ready as crews comb the flood zone for the missing. The team will provide hydration, wound care and other urgent treatment in the field.

“These elite K‑9 partners are critical to the mission, and our team is committed to helping them stay healthy, safe and mission‑ready,” the VET said in a statement.

Texas A&M Veterinary Emergency Team said thoughts are with the residents coping with the disaster, expressing support for first responders and affected communities.
